Rollei 6001

The Rolleiflex 6001 professional is the new 6 x 6 camera from the Braunschweig-based camera manufacturer Rollei. It has never been easier for new users to upgrade into medium format and the Rolleiflex 6000 system.

The basic features of this camera are based on the well known Rolleiflex 6008 E, 6003 professional and 6008 integral models. These cameras are suited for studio photography use, involving studio lighting or flash.

It does offer a less expensive alternative to the Hasselblad system. Though it is electronic and Ni Cad dependent, so you won't find one of these models on the Moon, or on top of Everest.

TTL flash metering through a silicon photo-diode on the film plane in conjunction with SCA-300 system (Metz) flash units.

Bracketing mode uses increments of 1/3 or 2/3, +/- EV. The photographer can also adjust aperture or shutter speed.

The 6001 professional has built-in motorized film transport at 1.5 fps. The motorized drive presumptuously advances the film to frame 1 when new film is put in, and automatically rewinds at the end of the film.

Unfortunately the power supply comes from a special rechargeable, NiCad battery which has a capacity of about 500 pictures.

The Rolleiflex 6001 professional has a laminar draw-slide and pre-loadable film inserts, Rollei's interchangeable magazine. A 120 roll film magazine comes standard.
