Contax T* 35mm Lens Specifications  (Japan)

28-85mm 3.5-4.0
Standard wide angle to a slight telephoto, this zoom length is the most versatile for composition I've ever used. With the color saturation and sharpness I've come to expect from all my Zeiss Zoom lenses. Of course it is not as sharp or fast as the primes in those relative focal lengths.  One draw-back is the lens is too heavy for the flimsy bayonet mount. The mount ring was bent within the first several months I had the lens. With the MM mount this problem keeps the camera from making contact with the databus of the lens. Thus your camera can't read aperture information or function in program modes. This mount-ring can easily be replaced using a jewelers screwdriver each ring priced at $45.00 US.
The focal length and distance are set on the same ring. The range of focal length of this lens make it suitable for use as a universal zoom, e.g., travel, landscape, portraiture and editorial photography.

*Please note that Contax is Kaput! Kyrocera pulled the plug on the Contax camera system in 2005. So buyer beware. You'll only have used parts to service the camera with, and good luck finding a certified Contax camera technician
